Stop CCcam / OSCam Freezing — Step-by-Step Fix

Before you report a line problem, run these quick checks. Freezing and connection drops almost always come down to the receiver, the internet or the configuration — and each one is easy to rule out below.

⚡ 30-second quick check

Tap each item once you have checked it.

  • Is your line still active? Check the expiry date in your account.
  • Test your line. Once it hasn’t expired, paste it on linetester.net: if it shows green, the line works on our side — the problem is your receiver, settings or internet (keep following the steps below). If it shows red, it’s on our side — tell us and we’ll fix it.
  • Are the date and time on your receiver correct? A wrong date breaks the connection.
  • Is the same line used on two receivers at once? Sharing a line causes freezing and can get it blocked.

Great — problem solved!

Enjoy watching. If it comes back, start again from the step that fixed it.

  • Make sure your receiver supports CCcam or OSCam (Dreambox, Openbox, Vu+, Starsat or another compatible receiver).
  • Check that your CCcam/OSCam line is correctly installed and enabled.
  • Keep only active, valid lines (readers). Remove or disable expired, inactive, duplicate or unused ones.
  • Don’t run several softcams at the same time — they conflict.

Do these in order and test after each one.

  • Use the Network Test on your receiver to confirm it is online.
  • If you can, use an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi — it is far more stable.
  • Make sure your internet doesn’t drop out regularly.
  • Set the receiver’s DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1.

Freezing is often caused by local network problems or an IP address conflict.

  • Restart CCcam or OSCam.
  • Restart your receiver.
  • Restart your internet router.
  • Disconnect every other device from your network (phones, PCs, TVs, consoles, other receivers…).
  • Restart your router.
  • Connect only your receiver and test it.
  • Reconnect the other devices one by one.
  • If you find an IP conflict, reserve a fixed local IP for your receiver in your router settings.
  • Remove old, expired or duplicate lines.
  • Use only one C: line per server and copy it exactly — spaces and upper/lower case matter.
  • CCcam: check your CCcam.cfg. OSCam: check that your readers are enabled and correct in oscam.server.
  • Look for conflicting settings or outdated configuration files.
  • An old CCcam.pro in /var/etc/? Check whether it is needed before removing it.
  • Freezing on one channel only? Then it is that channel, not your line.
  • Try your line on another compatible receiver, or on a different internet connection.
  • If it works there, the problem is your original receiver, its configuration or your local internet.

An active line doesn’t mean your receiver and network are set up correctly — most freezing is fixed with the steps above. Thank you!
